Painted for Art United Us project in the front line town of Avdeevka, Ukraine. The image depicts the then 73 year old school teacher Marina Marchenko, who, as a victim of war, represents through her story the problems citizens of this community and others like it have faced during the ongoing war in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine.

This work was completed together with photographers Geo Leros, Anton Kuleba and Amos Chapple (rferl.org).
