Through a site-specific adaptation this theme aligns context with mural design and building functionality in reference to the themes recurrence in architectural design and sociology. The composition was created through a collaborative development with Melbourne-based hearing impaired dancer Anna Seymour. Through this process of interpretive dance and photography, an organic consideration was reached on the structural features of the building as well as its functional use as a place of learning for AUSLAN study. Anna is both significant and inspirational in both the deaf and dance community, known for her primary role in establishing numerous projects including the Deaf Can Dance Project run by Deaf Arts Network and Arts Access Victoria and the Delta Project, a collaborative dance company which brings together both hearing and deaf dancers.

Together, movement and expression compliment the concrete architectural shapes of the Melbourne Polytechnic building and align with the site’s cultural significance to the deaf community as a place of study for AUSLAN students at the Prahran Campus and Anna’s Inspiring story.
